There will only be one required
project for each student. The project can be either "analytical" - using
existing programs and tools to investigate a biological issue, or can be
"methodological" - improving a methodology discussed in class. Please
feel free to talk to the course instructor with your self nominated
project, if you have one.
A good "analysis" project would be
applying existing software and web-tools on biological data to come up
with a novel biological hypothesis (a few hypotheses) with
compelling "in silico" evidence. In depth discussion about the finding
of the analyses is expected. We will look into a few existing tools in
class.
A good "methodology" project would
be implementing an improved version of an algorithm discussed in class.
